Smoky Quartz was a popular gem in the late 50's and 60's, when big, sparkling gems were a rage. The Victorians who understood its rich expressiveness of restraint, used Smoky Quartz in mourning jewelry. Its major sources are Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Uruguay.
